Save The Printout Of Your Ultrasound Scan!

Modern technology today is truly amazing when you start to look at it. First we could capture moments of our lives in the form of a picture taken by a camera. Next we added video to capture movement and sound as well as picture. These are priceless treasures for nearly everyone in the civilized world as we can save those important moments of our live to remember later.

Without doubt One of the most important events in many people's lives is becoming pregnant and waiting on the birth of a baby. There are those nine months of excitement building up to the actual birth, and after that, we all know pictures and video are on the menu for many years to come. But what about before the baby is born?

Every mother-to-be looks forward in excited antisapation to the day of her ultrasound scan. Whether or not you are going to find out the sex of the baby, it is thrilling to be able to see your tiny offspring for the first time. It is a moment every mother remembers.

When the sonographer completes the ultrasound scan, he/she will almost always run off prints of the unborn child for the expectant parents or parent to take home. This is your very first picture of your baby! Make sure you save it and put it in your baby scrapbook, or at least keep it with some other mementos of the pregnancy and birth, such as the baby's wrist band from the hospital.

Another service some sonographers offer is to record your ultrasound scan on video or DVD for you. Sometimes they charge a fee for this service, but it is usually small and this is something you definitely want to keep in your home video archives!

Your first ultrasound most often will be your last, as there is normally only one done around the middle of the pregnancy, so make sure you ask any questions you may have and take a close look at your baby while you have the chance. The next time you see her may be just after she's born.

There are important reasons for having an ultrasound scan done and it isn't only done so that you can see your little baby. The main reason is to take measurements and get a look at the baby to make sure that everything seems okay. Some conditions can be detected by ultrasound and if your sonographer or doctor has any concerns they can order further tests.

Most often, though, you will love the take a look into your child's life before birth. As the child grows both she and you will love to look back on that first ultrasound and remember the happiness and excitement you felt when you went in to your appointment.

It's an important occasion, and one you will be glad you have documented!
